Hybrid Conference "Kollisionsabfrage - Barrierefreiheit im Gaming"

The Stiftung Digitale Spielekultur invites you to the hybrid conference "Kollisionsabfrage - Barrierefreiheit im Gaming" on May 16, 2023 from 13:00 to 19:30. In keynotes, panel discussions and professionally commented games, they would like to discuss the opportunities of inclusive design of computer games and further establish accessibility as a topic of digital game culture together with stakeholders from politics, science, civil society and the games industry.

The conference will be opened by Çiğdem Uzunoğlu, Managing Director of the Stiftung Digitale Spielekultur, followed by greetings from André Necke, Head of the Interministerial Working Staff at the Federal Government Commissioner for Matters relating to Persons with Disabilities, and Helge Jürgens, Managing Director of Medienboard Berlin-Brandenburg. Following keynotes by Melanie Eilert, inclusion ambassador at Gaming without Borders, and Prof. Dr. Angela Tillmann, head of the research focus Media Worlds at Cologne University of Applied Sciences, the latter will discuss the state of accessibility in games together with André Necke and Çiğdem Uzunoğlu as well as Johanna Janiszewski, Founder and Managing Director of Tiny Crocodile Studios and board member of game - Association of the German Games Industry. In the further course, the live-playing of several games will deal with the current state of inclusion on the basis of the topics indie games, gaming hardware and esports. Guests will include Marco-Alexander Breit, Head of the Artificial Intelligence and Digital Technologies Unit at the German Federal Ministry of Economics and Climate Protection, Niklas Luginsland, esport player and content creator at VfB Stuttgart, and Dennis Winkens, inclusion ambassador at Gaming without Borders. A get-together will conclude the conference day in the evening.
