Riot Games and Berlin-based Grid have signed a multi-year agreement that makes Grid the exclusive data provider for League of Legends Esports and the Valorant Champions Tour. As part of the deal, Riot Games is also acquiring a stake in the company.
The agreement now concluded between Riot Games and Grid eSports builds on an existing cooperation. Grid has already been Riot Games' exclusive e-sports data partner for the Valorant Champions Tour for two years. The results of this partnership have apparently convinced Riot Games, as otherwise the company would hardly have thrown its flagship "League of Legends" into the mix. According to official information, the new agreement covers a multi-year period and includes League of Legends Esports as well as the Valorant Champions Tour.
To consolidate the strategic partnership, Riot Games is also acquiring shares in the Berlin-based company.
